The article concerns the application of the prerogative of mercy in the territories of the former Prussian Partition when the Chief of State Józef Piłsudski was the head of state. It portrays the manner in which the Civil Chancellery of the Chief of State applied the law in the territories of the former Prussian Partition. Moreover, it presents statistical data pertaining to the following issues: crimes, legal systems, and decisions made by the Chief of State.
